Psychotherapy in Glasgow city centre

I’m guessing if you are on this website you are looking to talk to someone. I work in the centre of Glasgow offering individual and group psychotherapy. I would be happy to hear from you to discuss whether individual psychodynamic or group analytic psychotherapy might be of use to you.

Why psychotherapy?

Relationships are often challenging. At times they can become overwhelming so having a space to explore them can be beneficial. Unresolved feelings and conflict can lead to long term problems such as anxiety and depression. Often they will have a link back to the past but it is not always clear why or when they started. Psychodynamic psychotherapy can help to look at the way people repeat patterns of relating. Especially in close relationships. People are complex and there are often many reasons why they cannot find the words to express themselves, resulting in emotional difficulties. The space to talk can lead to more understanding of ourselves and potentially more successful relationships.

Group or Individual?

Following consultation a clear reasoning why someone would or would not be would be offered group therapy. Often people can back away from group therapy because it feels too daunting to talk to others in a open forum. However once the person’s initial fears are managed, they can feel supported by the group. And they can get a sense of relief that others understand their struggle. Groups are very helpful to allow a person to see how they relate to others and give a sense of belonging. All discussions in groups are confidential.
